hey everyone. thought i would get back up here and start rambling to ya'all.
we're in hard core pre tour production mode. you have no idea! i have been consumed since the last week of april. absolutely consumed. im of little use elsewhere in my life! don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining - at all. i LOVE it. i never realized how much i love to plan. i love it. we're so excited, so excited to get out there on the road and see you all. although what you'll see of me will probably be frazzled and running around wishing it were winter!
i wanted to talk about the new EP. obviously charlottes EP, as it is all her music...but i feel a little bit of attachment to it as well. all of the photos on it (four total) were taken by me. so i feel like the EP is a part of me as well. and of-course a special closeness to the title track :] its funny, i was driving around singing new kids on the block or something last week and i had a random memory. does that ever happen to you? you're totally in one brain wave and suddenly you remember something completely random? I remember the day that i took the photo on the disc/tray (which is one of my favorite photos btw. i ADORE that photo). it was after spending a day with ken and charlotte, i felt inspired to take my new camera (d70 baby!) out and shoot with it. it was the first time i had gone shooting with it, because i hadnt been inspired in awhile. i left their house and i went out to one of my favorite childhood play areas in los feliz and i took this photo. so this memory came back to me from that day while i was climbing in and out of trains taking photos, with charlotte texting me that she was recording darkest hour. i only recently made that connection. i specifically remember getting that text when i was in the area that the photo was taken.
and the photo was not taken for this purpose at all. it was me trying to be a sunflower. i sent the photo to char simply cause i liked it - and suddenly here it was in the artwork asking if it was ok. and it just fit. it was like the photo was meant for this. i dont know, im rambling. but sometimes things like that strike me. you have no idea what this photo is, but when you see it you'll know the story :]
tomorrow we will discuss the cover. a lot of people think they understand that photo, but they don't - its a secret :]
