hi everyone! just a quick update - first of all, a big congratulations to my favorite drummer fernando sanchez and his new fiance gabriela coco!! they are engaged and i could not be happier for them - so guess who did their engagement photos? thats right, me!! if you wanna view them they are in the engagement gallery. and a few photos are also in the fern and gaby gallery.

i had been talking and talking about wanting to make a little mini movie while i was in south america last month and i FINALLY got around to editing it and putting it together. ive NEVER edited before so its very rough - however, many of you had asked to see some video of my trip so here it is! its about eight minutes long, so when you have some time give it a look. i personally like the end the best with all the water!!!

and remember - first time editor and on a moving boat half the time, have patience!!! but i gotta say i love it. but its also memories for me :] a new art form for me to explore, as i am contemplating expanding my visual horizons...slowly :] toe in the water, toe in the water!!!

hello everyone! earlier this week i returned home from fourteen days in south america - argentina and chile. i had the most incredible time and feel as though ive uncovered, for myself, a place that feels like home. and a place i hope to visit often. we started in buenos aires and then traveled allllll the way down to tierra del fuego to catch an expedition cruise which would take us down to cape horn and through the straits of magellan before landing us in punta areanas, chile. from there i headed north to santiago before i headed home.

i did take photos on the trip and i have uploaded them into a gallery which you can view by clicking here. there are some photos i am proud of in the fine art aspect. and as with china, many photos are simply snapshots from my vacation.

i did not do these places justice. in many beautiful places i was simply too awestruck by the beauty to even pick up my camera. or by the culture. i was mesmerized by the whole place. i have never been more ready for a trip. i studied both countries history. i studied the language. i was ready for the food (which, by the way, was AMAZING). i watched every lecture. i listened to every guide (where as in the past i would just put on my ipod). i soaked up everything about these mystical places.

i talked to so many people. somewhere that seemed genuine and pure. i cant explain. i want to see all of latin america. all of it. and one day, i could see myself living there. BA i could move to tomorrow. i think it would only take about a month to completely pick up the language.

i also filmed a little for a little movie id like to put together, but i havent done it yet. stay tuned, hopefully that will come in the next few weeks.

hello everyone!!!!

well. things have been interesting on the photo front. i did not pick up my camera once in february, i am sad to say. not even my point and shoot!!! but i feel that i am back.

i recently teemed up with KriSeLen.com and Avoid Peril as a freelance photographer. this is big news, i cant believe i forgot to post it here! at least my manager put it on her myspace. :]

anyhow - i had my first shoot for kriSeLen.com this past weekend. i shot angels and airwaves (and their main support act meg & dia) at the wiltern here in los angeles. i'll be honest with you, i was nervous! i have not shot a concert since....jonnenie zapata at the wiltern in summer 06. but the moment i got down in that photo pit and warmed up shooting meg & dia...it kicked in. every click of the shutter made me feel more and more connected to myself. i had kind of put live photography aside for a few years and i have no idea why. it felt GREAT to shoot a show. it was like finding myself. shooting angels and airwaves was SO MUCH FUN and i was so grateful for the opportunity. the energy that bounced around in that room full of screaming fans energized me to try and chase tom around the stage with full force strobes and catch a magic moment.

ive rambled there, but this was a big deal for me. i hope to be shooting a lot more shows. its my foundation. what got me into photography in the first place. i adore doing shoots and working with people....i would never give that up. but im going to be throwing concerts into the mix. and i wont ramble about it as much ever again, dont worry. it had just been awhile :]

angels and airwaves and meg & dia galleries now exist and i'd love to hear any feedback :] ALSO, more photos (DIFFERENT photos!) of angels and airwaves will appear on http://www.kriselen.com/ in the future. ill keep you posted!

also added one new photo to the bird project. can you find it? its quite possibly my favorite photo. i blew it up to a 16x20 and hung it over my bed. i took it in january on a random rainy weekday. i may have even been listening to every day is like sunday.

erin russell and her photography are traveling to argentina and chile (including cape horn and the beagle channel!) for a magallenic adventure this april...just a few weeks from now. get ready for a SLEW of photos as i dive head first into a spanish speaking adventure.

i was asked by the pink project to shoot an event they were holding to raise awareness for rainn and breast cancer at usc on october 22, 2007. there was a booth full of information and special speeches by survivors, the pink project girls val and michelle as well as christina ricci for rainn.

i was honored to be a part of this noble event - as both are very important causes. i highly suggest you check out www.thepinkproject.com - if you have not already. it is a beautiful photography book for charity. it would make a great gift this holiday season!!!

anyhow - i added about 25 photos from the event to my EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY page, and for those of you just interested in the celebrity, i also made an additional small christina ricci gallery :]

i recently finished a shoot last week for a long time friend and beautiful musician jen mcclung for her upcoming release. jen and i used to take pictures of each other in high school and be photographers for a day. funny isnt it? one of the best shoots ive had in awhile. i cant wait to share the photos!

hey everyone - its been a little slow over here. after doing sooo many shoots in july and august, i took a few weeks to recharge and mellow out and get past the INSANE heat wave los angeles has been having. the rain and clouds today brough me back to my camera, so i am hoping to have some new stuf for ya'all soon!

in the meantime, i have added the cover of the new ken andrews live record to my commercial gallery - yay, another cover.

also, i forgot this in an earlier update - i did a shoot with the oh so talented katy rose, for her new digital project candy eyed this past may. you can find them in katys gallery as well as on her myspace page. chicks with attitude forever :] oh and on that note, i put a LOT of liz phair photos from the CWA tour up that i had never really released. so, enjoy!

im also officially letting everyone know that ive changed my galleries around today so i hope everyone enjoys the new photos and - hopefully - much easier to handle layout.

wow i just realized i might seem all dormat over here on ER.COM. i promise i'm not - ive actually been shooting more than i possibly ever have! i have new galleries in the works - some new photos, but a whole different way of viewing and organizing the galleries - with any luck that should be launching soon!

i have also been very busy with shoots - in may i shot the lovely mandi perkins (myspace.com/mandiperkins), and you can view a ton of the photos on her myspace page. in june i was fortunate enough to shoot for the every so talented and avocado-tastic cindy alexander (cindyalexander.com). and then yesterday i shot the AWESOME alicia broussard (www.aliciabroussard.com). i will update here when i am allowed to release alicia or cindys photos! lots of cd artwork for erin! its been awesome. i have also started building some great relationships with some fantastic makeup artists... there are some truly talented and amazing spirits out there. its been a blast being creative with so many people.

so far this month i have 5-6 more shoots scheduled, with no signs of stopping.
